Who Are The
Baumholder Bunker Monkeys
Baumholder Bunker Monkeys is a team made up of various players. We have High School Students, Civilians
(German and American), Soldiers (American and German) and Old Guys (Gray Bush 62 years old).

We all have one thing in common we all enjoy playing paintball. However, we play a different style of paintball.
Back in the early 1990’s a group of players started playing an aggressive woods-ball style of paintball. This
became Speed-ball/Sup-Air of today, our team mimics’ that style of playing.
The term now used for Bunker Monkey Style is “High Impact” paintball. It’s a blend of fast-paced Woodsball. As
a team we hate to sit and defend, we are loud, we are always talking to each other, the biggest asset we have
is speed.

This brings me to the next point that is how our name “The Bunker Monkeys”. 5 years ago we were playing
against the Army in a training mission. CJ, Cam, Dr. Mike, and I were taking on 12 soldiers, we would run from
bunker to bunker and hammer the “Good Guys” at one point we pushed the whole unit back to the pond and
shot them up. This went on for all day. At the end of the day one of the soldiers made a comment “shooting at
you guys is like trying to shoot monkeys you just won’t stand still.” Well the name took.

Over the next few years we looked for players who are aggressive and don’t mind being in front, and the
biggest thing is that we as a team have to don the Orange Vests and sometimes we have to get our asses
handed to so the newbie’s will return.

The greatest odds against the Monkeys were 8 to 1 and we pulled it off. Now there have been times where we
bit off more than we can chew. Once we took on 10 to 1 (a little over 150 Vs 15 of us) and we got our asses
handed to us. That was the time I told our team “well this is a mistake.” However most of the time we would win
but not by much.

With the Bunker Monkeys two things are a given:
1) I (Wojo) will be the first team member to be shot out.
2) Gray Bush will run out of paint. After that anything is up for grabs.
